Participation in Origination of CalVet Loans

Veterans now have the option to originate their CalVet loans through mortgage brokers. CalVet launched a program in 1999 to allow mortgage brokers to originate CalVet loans as a means to provide greater access for veterans to use this valuable loan benefit.

Elimination of Mandatory Classes for Mortgage Brokers/Bankers

In an ongoing effort to streamline processes and to better serve our veterans and brokers/bankers (MLOs), we will no longer require mortgage brokers to take classes to be certified with the CalVet Home Loan Program.

To submit loans to CalVet Home Loans will only require the following three items:

• Complete and submit the Mortgage Loan Originator Application & Broker Agreement Form
• Broker must provide a copy of their current DRE Broker License information and current NMLS information.
• Broker must sign the CalVet Broker Agreement, which is attached to the Mortgage Broker Loan Application Submittal.
• (Optional) - Brokers VA identification number if you have one
